Drug Take Back, Softball and HALLOWEEN

HALLOWEEN activities this week at Elmwood Park, the Library, Roosevelt School parking lot, and Healing Word Church.

Saturday, October 26, 10 am-noon, New Life Internet Café, 19 W. Marshall. Photo ID Clinic. Questions, call 610-945-6398.

Saturday, 10 am-2 pm, Municipal Hall, 235 E Airy. Prescription Take Back Day. Bring your old or unused prescriptions to Norristown Police Department.

Saturday, noon-1:30 pm, Elmwood Park. Jack O'Lantern Jamboree. Tricks and treats. Costume Contest, Music and Pumpkin Decorating. For info, contact 610-270-0467 or recreation@norristown.org.

Saturday, 2-3 pm, Montgomery County-Norristown Public Library Youth Services Department. Creepy Cooking Class for kids 5-12. Come make some spooky snacks and gruesome grub. Peanut butter may be used. Children under age 8 must be accompanied by an adult. Class size is limited. Drop in. For info, contact 610-278-5100 x205.

Sunday, 11 am - 5 pm, Eisenhower Middle School. Pitching for Unity. Come out to watch the Norristown Police Force take on the Carver Center staff at softball. Vendors, food, live DJ, 50/50 raffles.

Tuesday, 6:30 pm, Municipal Hall. Council meeting.
Wednesday, 11:30 am- 1 pm, Norristown Hospitality Center (530 Church St). Open House.

HALLOWEEN Activities:

Wednesday, 4-7 pm, Roosevelt School Parking Lot. Trunk or Treat. CADCOM hosts its annual Community Trick-or-Treat event. Local organizations create a maze of cars, decorate the trunks, and hand out safe treats. FREE. All are welcome.

Wednesday, 6-9 pm at Healing Word Church, 208 Chain Street. 4th Annual FallFest. This year's theme is "What You Wanna Be When You Grow Up" so come dressed up and don't forget your kids. Candy, gifts, crafts, games, music, and much more.

Next Friday, Nov 2, Timshel Coffee Art Show Reception. Greater Norristown Art League will show and sell their works.

Next Saturday, 8-11 pm, Five Saints Distilling. Tru-Blu's Tribute to the Blues.

FREE Halloween Events, Theater, etc.

FOUR FREE Trick-or-Treat events for kids in town Saturday afternoon and Tuesday night. The Norristown.org website also lists a Halloween Spooktacular event from 1-3 pm on Saturday, but doesn't say where or what, so I recommend the Halloween event at Selma (2-5 pm) or the Fall Festival at MLK Park (3-6 pm) instead.

Friday, 8 pm at Theatre Horizon (401 Dekalb). LAST weekend for "2.5 Minute Ride" ~ Saturday at 8 pm, Sunday at 3 pm. Full schedule and tickets at this link.


Saturday,  10 am-noon, new Life Internet Cafe (19 W Marshall). Photo ID Clinic. If you need a photo ID, bring any of the following: SS Car, old photo ID, driver license, military ID, marriage or divorce papers, passport, school ID, birth certificate, naturalization/ citizenship papers. Saturday, 10 am-2 pm, Norristown Police Department, 235 E Airy, Take Back Day. Make your home safer by cleaning out your medicine cabinets and dropping off unwanted or expired prescription and over-the-counter medicines.

Saturday, 11 am-5 pm at Selma Mansion (1301 W Airy). 1st Annual Psychic Fair. Variety of talented readers, healers and workshops available. Tickets are $10 at the door, which includes attendance to all workshops offered during the day. Separate charges for all readers, healers and other vendors. Vendors fee for tables, $20 (supply your own table). Space is limited for this event, and all proceeds will go directly to the preservation of Selma Mansion.


Saturday, 2-5 pm at Selma Mansion (1301 W Airy). Bring your kids Trick or Treating at Selma. FREE admission. Costume Contest at 3 pm. Cheap kids games (25 cents/ticket). Benefits the upkeep of Selma Mansion.

Saturday, 3-6 pm at Martin Luther King Park (Oak St). Fall Festival. FREE for kids. Games, food, raffles, lots of candy. Positive costumes allowed.

Saturday, 8 pm-midnight at Five Saints Distillery (E Main and Green Sts.). Pat's Run will perform.

Sunday, 9:30 am, Christ Church (corner of W. Marshall & Noble), Naylor Hall. Special breakfast, recognition and worship honoring our local police and firefighters. Everyone in the community is welcome to attend.
Sunday, Noon-3 pm, Theist Temple COGIC (535 E Marshall), PLATTERS, Mother's With Sons Fundraiser, $15 gets you chicken wingettes, potato salad or mac and cheese, string beans, corn bread, homemade peach cobbler or pound cake, iced tea or water. Dine in or take out. For info call 610-275-4571.

Tuesday, 4-7 pm, Roosevelt School Parking Lot, CADCOM's Trunk or Treat. Community organizations, Police Dept, nonprofits will decorate their car trunks and greet trick or treaters. Candy, Prizes. For info, call Heather Lewis at 610-277-6363 x166.

Tuesday, 5-8 pm, Selma Mansion (1301 W Airy). Children's Trick or Treating. Candy and prizes. Open house for everyone. FREE.

Next Friday and Saturday, Nov 3 and 4, 8 pm at Centre Theater. "Sweet Charity" by the King of Prussia Players opens. Will run weekends through Nov 19. Info at this link.
