Library Cards, Cemetery Tour, Talking to Your Kids About Drugs, and More

This week's events:

Friday, September 21, 9 am-2 pm. PARK(ing) Day. That's all the info on the Municipal calendar for this event ~ no explanation, no location. I'm assuming it's downtown on Swede St like last year. What PARK(ing) Day really is ~ individuals and organizations can turn a parking spot into a private park for however long they want to feed the meter. It's held annually, globally, on the 3rd Friday of September to highlight the need for more public green space. Actually, if the county and Norristown want to do it right, they'd publicize it ahead of time and make it a friendly contest between organizations and businesses.

Saturday, 9 am-5 pm at Montgomery County-Norristown Public Library Youth Services Department. Library Card Sign-Up Month. Through Sept 30 (only one more week), kids in grades 0-12, if you don't have a card and sign up for one this month, you'll receive a free book and bookmark, plus be entered in a drawing to win a $25 Amazon gift card. New registrations only. For info, contact 610-278-5100 x205.
