The most disturbing thing about Norristown lately is how little seems to be going on in any one week. Or, at least, how little that is going on is posted on the local calendars or social media. But I suspect that the older residents who usually organize things are dropping out of things and younger people aren't stepping up to take their places. If you have an upcoming event and you want people to come to it, please list it 2 weeks before on Nextdoor.com, Norristown.org, and/or The Norristown Project Calendar.
Here are this week's offerings:
Saturday, January 6, 8 pm, Centre Theater. Comedy Show: Phil Forrence and Friends. $10. Tickets at Forrence.brownpapertickets.com.
Sunday, 2-5 pm, Elmwood Park Zoo. FREE admission to Norristown Borough residents on the first Sunday of each month. Adults must show photo ID as proof of residency.
Wednesday, 1-3:30 pm, Norristown Public Library Board Room. Mary's Matinee. FREE movie the second and fourth Wednesday of each month. This week: "The Glass Castle." Drop in. Contact Mary Motta for info, 610-278-5100 x111 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
