Theater, Concerts, Sports, and More

After the rains today and tomorrow morning, the weekend is supposed to be nice. And oddly enough, most of this week's events in town are on Tuesday and Thursday.

Friday, June 23, 8 pm at Centre Theater (208 Dekalb). This is the LAST weekend for the King of Prussia Players production of "Chicago." $25 adults, $15 children under 13 and seniors over 64. Last shows on Saturday at 8 pm and Sunday at 2 pm. Tickets and info at www.kofpplayers.com  Also August Moon is offering 10% discount to all ticket holders before or after the shows.
Saturday, 8:30 am-2:30 pm at Norristown Youth Eagles Field (1001 Sterigere). Youth Eagles Football Camp presented by Norristown Men of Excellence and the Youth Eagles. For all children ages 5-14. Parent MUST register child.

Saturday, 10 am-1 pm. Phoenix Martial Arts Center (401 W Elm, 2nd floor) presents "Your Health & Wellness Matters." Learn about the benefits of Tai Chi. Learn why it's important to read labels not just for what you put in your body but what you put on your body. Relax & de-stress with a chair massage.

Saturday, 8-11 pm, Five Saints Distilling (Main and Green). The Joe Kenney Jazz Trio performs.

Sunday, 7 pm at the Elmwood Park Bandshell, Summer Concert Series presents the Sofa Kings. Bring a chair or blanket to sit on (though you're going to want to get up and dance). Concession stand will be open.

Tuesday, 1:30-3 pm at Norristown Library. 3-day Mini-Theater Workshop for children 9-12. Participants will get the opportunity to explore character development, scene study and monologues through group activities and theatre games.  Limit 10 students. Registration is required. Tuesday, 2-4 pm at Norristown Library Community Room. Make a Micro-Garden workshop for TEENS. Plant, plan, and care for a container garden to enjoy all summer. Personalize a planting pot and fill it with herbs, flowers, and decorations of your choice! All supplies provided. Tuesday, 5:30-7:30 pm at Five Saints Distilling. The Montgomery County Chamber of Commerce hosts a Business Card Exchange. Bring plenty of business cards.

Tuesday, 7 pm at Municipal Hall. Zoning Board hearing. Agenda is at this link.

Thursday, 11 am-2:30 pm on East Main in front of the Courthouse. Norristown Farmers Market. Every Thursday through Oct 26. Variety of fruits and vegetables, farm fresh.

Thursday, 6:30-8 pm at Norristown PAL, 340 Harding Blvd. Racial Justice Dialogue. Indivisible PA BuxMont asks a "diverse representation from the African American, Latino, Asian and other minority communities (impacted by the Trump agenda and direction)" to join their Civil Rights Team facilitators, Dr. Adirene Hobdy and AnishaRobinson Keeys for a dialogue about race and social justice in Montgomery County.

Thursday, 7:30 pm, Theatre Horizon (410 Dekalb) presents a concert reading of "Zanna Don't (A Musical Fairy Tale)". Pay what you decide. Second performance on Friday, 7:30 pm.

Thursday, 8-10 pm at Centre Theater, 208 DeKalb. Poetry Open Mic Night. Blak Kanvus and Team All Business hosts. Doors open at 7pm, show starts at 8pm. Tickets are $10.
